INTIMATIONS for SUNDAY 6 July 2008

  1. Prayer Ministry: We are delighted to be able to offer prayer ministry. It is available to everyone whether visiting or in regular attendance. This is an opportunity to simply lift burdens to God, and ask for His particular blessing at this time. If you would like prayer after the service, please make your way to the front of the church where each week two people will be available. The team recently received training and will be fully accountable and confidential. This week Esther Howie and Jane Duckfield are in attendance.
  2. Life and Work: magazines are ready to be uplifted from the Session House today.
  3. 6.30pm: Evening Worship, incl Communion, led by Rev Peter Gordon.
  4. 7.30pm: Please note there will be NO Time of Prayer this evening but please feel free to fill in the prayer request form beside the prayer box at the Welcome Table.
  5. Minister on Holiday: The minister will be on holiday from  Monday 7 to Wednesday 30 July inclusive. Anyone requiring the help of a minister during this time is asked to contact Rev Peter Gordon on 01334 652341.
  6. Housegroups: Pitstop Summer Activities: meets at 7pm on Thursday 10th  July at Wetlands Playing Fields for a game of rounders. All welcome. If inclement, meet at Altair, Westfield road. Contact Jim Hanson (653036) for further details. Thursday 24th July visit to CLAN: this year the study is ‘Grace’ anyone who is interested in going the tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for students 9with student card). Money to be paid to Lisa Caldwell as soon as possible, so the tickets can be bought. Meet at 5.30pm at the Old Parish Centre to car share.
  7. Church Secretary: will be on holiday from 14 to 26 July inclusive. Intimations for Sunday 20 &27 July should be submitted to Liz by Thursday 10th
  8. Hill Walk: This months hill walk takes place on Saturday 19 July to Monadh Mor/ Bein Bhrotain, 2 Munros from Geldie Lodge, Linn of Dee, (bikes required) departing from Cupar at 7.00am. Contact Lynne on 01337 831230 for information
  9. Kirk Session: Elders are asked to meet in the Session House on Sunday 20 July at 9.30am.
  10. Vacancy: Applications are invited for the position of Church Cleaner. Duties will include ensuring the church is prepared for Sunday services and is also well presented for any funerals and weddings. You can expect to work a minimum of 6 hours per week. Written applications should be submitted to the Session Clerk, Mrs Marion Cruickshank, ‘Belford’, 22 Millbank, Cupar by 31 July.
  11. Champion’s Challenge:  Children’s Summer Holiday Club meeting for leaders at St John’s Church Hall on Thursday 31 July at 8.00pm.
  12. Champion’s Challenge: Donations of Tea, Coffee, Juice and Biscuits are required for snacks during the Holiday Club. Also, the craft coordinator needs the following donations for the different projects – 600g or 750g empty cereal boxes, cardboard tubes from toilet roll, kitchen roll, etc, and small unwanted objects (buttons, broken toys, game pieces etc. Please leave all donations in the yellow box in the vestibule

  14. Volunteers Required: to help with moving furniture and equipment from St Columba’s to the Old Parish Centre on Saturday 2 August. If you can assist please contact Bobby on 653692
  15. Sponsored Walk: Margaret Aitken and Jean Martin completed their 10 mile walk on Saturday 21st June in support of our forthcoming trip to Peru. The weather was perfect for us.  A huge thank you to all who supported us in this venture. A special thanks to Eleanor Morris who accompanied us on the walk. We have raised approx £475.00 with some monies still to come.

  17. World Mission Council Used Stamps: The collection of used stamps collected by Mrs Robin Rutherford raised £2,057.50 in 2007. A big thank you to everyone the money raised will  help disabled orphans in China. This year the project is SUMI (Scottish University Mission Institute) in Kalimpong, India. Used stamps can be given to Robin or an elder on duty.
