In October 2008, a party of about 20 Church members and affiliates will be traveling to Ica to help finish the construction of the home for abandoned street boys which is being funded as part of the C4Ward project.  This is part of a bigger project being co-ordinated by The Vine Trust, in conjunction with Scripture Union Peru.

Work on the home was accelerated in late 2007 following the major earthquake in August.  The area around Ica was heavily damaged, and money was advanced from Vine Trust funds to allow for the site to be completed early and to set up feeding stations for children made homeless as a result of the earthquake in the vicinity of Ica.

Cupar Old Parish would like to fully fund the construction of the new home and have to date raised almost £100 000 towards this cost, but as of December 2007 are still about £16 000 short of funding the entire project.

The 2008 team follow in the footsteps of a team which were involved in the early construction of the site in 2006, and aim to help raise the final sums needed to fully fund this project.  If you would like to donate online to help us with our target, please visit www.justgiving.com/peru08workparty
